Hyundai Motor India Limited is gearing up for the launch of a new micro SUV, the Xeter, which will sit below the Venue in the line-up. The makers have been teasing Exeter for quite some time now. Hyundai has announced that the Exter will be launched on July 10 and dealerships have started accepting bookings. When launched, the Hyundai Exter will compete with the Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Nissan Magnite, Maruti Suzuki Fronx and the Renault Kiger.
Powering the Exter will be a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and there will be a CNG powertrain on offer as well. The engine produces 82 bhp and 114 Nm and these outputs will drop when run on CNG. The petrol powertrain will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT while the CNG powertrain will get only a manual gearbox.
Hyundai will offer the Exter in five variants – EX, S, SX, SX(O) and the top-spec SX(O) Connect. The micro-SUV will come with several new first-in-segment features, including a dashcam with dual cameras and a smart electric sunroof. The sunroof will respond to voice commands such as “open sunroof” or “I want to watch the sky”. The feature is expected to be offered only on the top-end variant. Then there is the dashcam which comes with 5.84cm LCD display, smartphone connectivity, multiple recording modes, the dashcam also supports Full HD recording and has different recording modes like Driving (Normal), Event (Safety) and Vacation (Timelapse).

In terms of safety, the Exeter is equipped with six airbags as standard, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill assist control, 3-point seatbelts and seatbelt reminder, ABS with EBD, tire pressure monitoring system, rear parking camera, headlamps Will happen.
