The study also showed that the cars with the fewest recalls have one of the lowest predicted recalls over a 30-year lifetime. In contrast, the highest recall model is predicted to be recalled at least ten times during a single lifetime. The study states that these factors should be considered while buying a vehicle.
Speaking about the study and its findings, iSeeCars executive analyst Karl Brauer said that a car like the Lexus NX 300h or the Nissan 370Z is projected to have fewer than one recall over its 30-year lifetime. “The most recalled cars, including all four Tesla models, one Porsche and two Volkswagens, are estimated to be recalled between 20 and 62,” he added.
The study further states that the average car is recalled four times in its estimated 30-year lifespan. However, a car like the Tesla Model Y is expected to have 62 recalls, which is quite a number. The second most recalled car is the Porsche Panamera, with 61 recalls over its estimated lifespan of 30 years.
